What is Paint Protection Film?
Unlike coloured wrap which is made from vinyl, Paint Protection Film or PPF as it is more commonly known is a plastic urethane film. It is 5 times thicker than paint and is highly durable. This durability provides resistance to scratches which when heated can disappear. It also has a resistance to stone chips and gravel rash.
XPEL is the leading brand in PPF and they offer a clear gloss finish or a satin/frosted finish which can be applied to all painted and smooth plastic surfaces including interiors.

XPEL Factory Trained
We are Dorset's only factory trained PPF installer. This means we have been professionally trained by XPEL themselves and it grants us access to XPEL's DAP system.
Unlike any other installer in the local area, we have the ability to cut exact templates for your car. This reduces the need for "bulk cutting" and reduces the risk of scoring the paint. It also means you end up with neater and more exacting finish.

Preparing Your Car For PPF
Here at FCD we take a unique approach to applying our clear protective films. We consider every car and bike visiting our studio as it is visiting for a full correction detail so in the event that you ever wish to remove your film, the paint underneath will be detailed and looking deep and glossy. Not only is this about having pride in our own work, through extensive research we have found that the PPF develops a stronger bond to the paints surface when the car has been professionally detailed and not just cleansed.
