The 599 was Ferrari's Flagship V12 back in 2006. Unlike previous V12's, the 599 family was a special series of cars. The original 599 GTB Fiorano was their fastest road going car and featured Ferrari's test track (Fiorano) as part of its name to commemorate this.
Next in the family tree is the 599XX. Based on the 599, the 599XX is the hard core, racing focused version of the 599 and became the first production car to beat the 7 minute barrier at the Nurburgring, Nordschleife circuit.
In conjunction with the 599XX a road going version of the car was made, the GTO. Standing for "Gran Turismo Omologato" Omologato translates in English to Homologation which loosely means this car was built to race!
This week we were lucky enough to have the 599 GTO visit us. On a tight time deadline with only a few days until it was travelling to Modena, the owner wanted a spruce up the car with some new PPF and a light polish and protection with Swissvax Scuderia.
